What's Your Goal?

What’s your goal? I waited to post this because I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions or goals. They never seem to stick and I feel we should always look to better ourselves. However I do feel it is very important to have multiple goals that you want to achieve and putting it in writing will help to hold you accountable. After reading this, write your goal down somewhere and post it somewhere you will see it everyday.

So what should my goal be and why is it important? That’s a great question thanks for asking. Everyone should have a goal in mind to help achieve their health and fitness needs. Now most people have a goal such as lose weight or even to look better naked (like my friend Nick) but those should be end results. Those are great long term goals but what about short term. What is going to keep you going? You should ask yourself “What is going to get me there?"

The answer to that is probably one of a physical accomplishment, nutritional change or both. By having short term goals that you can accomplish on a regular basis you will avoid the frustration of not hitting that long term goal quickly. Maybe you want to be the first female you know to deadlift 200 pounds or first guy to squat over 400 pounds. Maybe even to just get to the gym 3 times a week or stop drinking pop (yes I said pop, I’m from northern Illinois and that’s how we roll).

Whatever your short term goal is, it should be measurable and you need to work towards that. Ask your coach what you need to be doing to get there. We are more than happy to offer our advice and guidance.

We wish you good luck in your health and fitness endeavors and we are here to help you in any way we can. With determination and hard work, you can get there. It’s up to you how bad you want it.

A long term goal for my fiancé and I is to run our first sprint triathlon together this summer. Our short term goals will come out in future posts. I plan to take you on this journey with us as we attempt to prove we can still get stronger while training for an endurance sport. Stay Tuned!

I challenge you to put up your goal on our Facebook Page!
